Vega prepared a diversity and lived experience survey for our pro bono partner Rising Worldwide. Rising entrepreneurs are primarily women, many of whom are survivors of extreme poverty, homelessness, discrimination, gender-based violence, and human trafficking. Through the power of entrepreneurism, these survivor leaders use their wisdom, strengths, and aspirations to create profound change.

The survey prepared by the Vega team was administered to the Rising staff and board members to capture the diversity of Rising's leadership and will be used to evaluate how it evolves over time. The survey also captured the staff's "lived experiences," including financial hardships, personal and family challenges, educational and vocational obstacles, discrimination, and violence, abuse, and exploitation.

Rising International is a California non-profit with a mission to protect women and children from poverty and exploitation, both locally and globally. Rising is creating a global community where underrepresented individuals have the opportunity to improve their own lives and the lives of others through social entrepreneurship. Its collective success is guided by economic equity, inclusiveness, and belief in the power of survivor leadership.
