Wendy A. Stock
Professor of Economics and Director of the MSU Initiative for Regulation and Applied Economics, Montana State University
Dr. Wendy Stock is a Professor of Economics and Director of the MSU Initiative for Regulation and Applied Economics. She is also an Associate Editor of the Journal of Economic Education and serves on the American Economic Association Committee on the Job Market.
Previously, Dr. Stock served as the head of the Department of Agricultural Economics & Economics from 2009 to 2016 and co-head from 2006 to 2009. Prior to Montana State, she was an Assistant Professor of Economics at Kansas State University from 1996 to 2000.
Dr. Stock's research focuses on the labor market, public health insurance, and education policies. Her research has been published in more than forty journal articles and three textbooks and she has written extensively on the labor market impacts of workplace discrimination, including discrimination based on age, gender, and disability.
Professor Stock has submitted expert reports and provided testimony in legal proceedings in the past, including several cases related to discrimination. In those cases, she have presented to the courts lost wage computations as well as economic analysis of counterfactual salary computations. She has also been commissioned by the University of Wyoming for a report that assessed salary differentials among faculty and staff related to sex, race/ethnicity, and age.
Dr. Stock holds a Ph.D. in economics from Michigan State University and a bachelor’s degree in economics from Weber State University.
