Michele Davidson
Michele Davidson is an expert on pharmacy technical standards based on years of experience within the industry. She is a pharmacist by training and worked at in a pharmacy for seventeen years before she was promoted to the corporate office.
Michele has worked to help improve efficiencies and assure compliance with various pharmacy technical standards. She ensured involvement in every aspect of standards development organizations, especially NCPDP. She also acted as the subject matter expert for questions related to NCPDP standards.
In a previous role, Michele facilitated interactions between CMS and the pharmacy relating to Medicare issues/questions and worked with Federal and State teams on rules/regulations as they relate to pharmacy, especially claims billing issues.
In other roles she worked as liaison for the chain drug industry between members and processor and payors. Michele helped the members to understand the pharmacy billing standards and work with the industry to improve workflow within the pharmacies.
Michele was the Project Manager for the Medicare Prescription Drug Benefit and oversaw the advertising, marketing, training and system enhancements that needed to be in place in order to implement this Program in all stores. She also worked with various state Medicaid agencies to legislate or facilitate changes in their programs to make these programs more "pharmacy friendly."
