Principal (Berkeley, CA)
As a principal, you will be responsible for leading complex projects with a support team of five to fifteen or more staff. You will develop analyses that are tailored to each assignment, manage the project, communicate with clients, and ensure the quality of the work product. You will also be responsible for fostering ongoing client relationships and generating new relationships.
Responsibilities
- Conduct academic and industry research related to each assignment
- In collaboration with experts, develop case-specific analyses that are based in economic principles and will withstand scrutiny
- Manage teams to carefully execute quantitative analyses, personally verifying the quality of the final work product
- Serve as a liaison between clients, experts, and the Vega team
- Ensure production of high-quality expert reports and other client deliverables
- Contribute to Vega’s business development by generating and growing client relationships
Qualifications
- Doctorate degree in economics, statistics or other quantitative sciences is highly preferred
- 5-10+ years of experience as a consultant, manager, professor leading research projects, or similar
- Demonstrated ability to perform original research, as demonstrated by publications in peer-reviewed journals, or similar
- Extensive experience managing analytic and statistical projects
- Advanced knowledge in programming and/or statistical packages such as Stata, Matlab, R, etc
- Ability to think and act with a focus on the needs of the client
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills
- Ability to juggle many simultaneous tasks and regularly reprioritize to meet client and company goals
