Wael Moussa

Senior Research Associate with the FHI 360 Education Policy and Data Center

Wael Moussa is a Senior Research Associate with the FHI 360 Education Policy Data Center. He previously worked in academic research on the US K-12 education space.

Dr. Moussa’s expertise and research interests lie in the economics of education, program and policy evaluation, and applied econometrics. His research has focused on evaluating the impacts of compulsory schooling laws in the US, specific educational programming, exogenous negative shocks to students’ learning environment, and teacher performance. He has studied education inequality and conflict, the impact of education inequality on the economy, and the effects of school fees on secondary school attendance among girls. His research has appeared in Economics of Education Review, Education Finance and Policy, and Journal of Applied Econometrics.

He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Syracuse University and an M.A. in Economics from the American University of Beirut.
