Xiaoyong Zheng
Professor of Agricultural and Resource Economics at North Carolina State University
Dr. Xiaoyong Zheng is a Professor of Agricultural and Resource Economics at North Carolina State University, where he is also currently serving as the Director of Graduate Programs in Economics.
Dr. Zheng’s fields of interest include empirical industrial organization, agricultural policy and applied econometrics. He has produced more than 30 academic publications on topics including market structure and competition issues in livestock industries, agricultural contracts, timber auctions and health and crop insurance. He frequently speaks at seminars and conferences on agricultural economics and applied economics.
He is currently associate editor of the Journal of Agricultural & Food Industrial Organization and previously of the American Journal of Agricultural Economics. Dr. Zheng has served as a consultant for American Enterprise Institute and RTI International and has worked on several legal cases involving market power issues in the livestock industries.
He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Indiana University.
